But must say it was a rough night on board, never heard rain like that before talk about monsoon

The second lot around four ish even woke up Jacob that's a first

Still it was all worth it catching all those dogs. Thanks to Chris kingfisher for letting us buddy up and the very smart pair of leggings

They had a good work out today. If you went to the way in you would have got a no fish 20 pound voucher

Thanks mick for the banter sorry no cod this time, roll on the flounder comp

1. was 19 ish 2. 6 lb ish 3. 1lb 6 oz. 66 anglers

Guess What our results are consistent with pretty much everyone else

0 Cod

0 Rays

However, we did catch this!!! 13lb 8ozs

Unfortunately, it was Vic that caught it and not me, so can't put it on the catch report as Vic is not a member!!

We also specialise in catching cod on no cod comp days!!!

I was out on Kelly's Hero with John, Allan and three of John's mates

We managed a similar result

Rays = 0

Cod = 0

We did manage some monster pout in which John managed one at 2lb 12oz

Allan had a Starry Smoothound at 13.5lb and John also had one at about 10lb

We also had some doggies with attitude and one of John's mates had a Conger to 35lb

We had had enough of the slop and lack of decent fish so went in early and got back at about 3.30

Good banter on the boat however.

Thanks John :)

First ever post

Leaving Cobbs at 7.15am I was in equal first place in this comp, despite my best efforts and great coaching from Neal and Stuie on Court Jester, I returned tired and cold 10hrs later in equal last place.

Great day however, caught my first Conga Eel a modest double not sure however who was scared the most when it came on board me or the eel.

Lessons learnt from the day, wet weather gear is better on the boat than the dining room table when you leave the pontoon, dont tell the wife to clear out the freezer as I am going to fill it full of Cod when I get back.

Thanks to all very enjoyable day out look forward to a few more in the coming months

Roger

I was really peed off when I was told I had to go away on a couple of audits and would have to miss the club cod (avoiding) competition. It is a shame that so many people blanked and got piss wet through, but at least you got out there.

It could be worse, you could be an England rugby selector, no matter what they do it goes wrong. It's all the fault of the funny small men numbered 10 - 15.

Hi Roger.

Have we got a potential new member?

My mistake, already a member.

Thanks to Kev and Jacob for the day out on Yelo , an enjoyable day was had.

We certainly tried hard for those elusive cod and rays, but no luck , Jacob kept us entertained most of the day............." it,s a cod, it's nodding, ee's on ! ", but alas, yet another doggy !!

Excellent bacon, sausage and egg roll's from the skipper !!!

We tried for a ray on a known spot, but even doggies there ! We came in as darkness fell and was pitch black time we moored up.

Bonus for the day was getting the tackle vouchers for NOT catching........well done Andy  :)

Thank's again boys,

Mick

We already have a Trophy for the largest cod of the year - The Steve Chester Memorial Trophy

The Cod comp trophy - will have to skip a year .............unless we have anther go!!

Maybe........... some better weather might tempt a few more entries

Plus we need to wait until Nigel goes back to work!

Funny, I thought I saw one of the dark arts men being sin binned, perhaps this had an effect on the result  :P  :P  :P

You're correct Mal and I along with all front row, past and present, was shocked that a hooker could stoop so low. If only we could go back to the days of rucking, although this was still a stamp. Please let's beat the Aussies.
