Steve,

 

I wouldn't worry too much about bait. If its a cold spring and the mackerel are scare early on, it can be worth taking half a dozen to get started, but launce and mack can usually be found easily enough throughout the day.

 

Other baits aren't usually worth bothering with. Lure and artificials for the wrecks and reef pollock are worth stocking up on.

 

Ice? I think there is a sticky topic on here somewhere but the guys either use greenslades or Simon in Southborne.

O/k, looks like I'll have to be the one to put the mockers on the trip. I've started to organise dinner for Sunday night (5th) and have said that I will confirm during the week before we go if it is on. I enclose a proposed menu which I hope you will agree looks good value at £23.95 per person, same as last year. Please note your choices ASAP so I can get it off to the hotel and do not have to waste time chasing people up. Thank you!

 

Harbour Lights Meal, PBSBAC

 

Starters


Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper Bisque. Served with a Rosemary Scone
Alderney Crab & Salmon Ravioli with Lemon Grass and Lime Leaf Veloute. Served with a Crispy Pancetta

Chicken Liver Parfait with Apricot and Onion Chutney. Served with a Toasted Brioche


Mains

 

Roasted Fore Rib of Beef served with Wild Mushrooms, Haricots Beans and Chorizo Cassoulet

Steamed Plaice Filet with Crayfish Mousse, Mediterranean Vegetables and aTomato and Basil sauce

Potato Gnocchi with wild mushrooms, Sage & Mixed Leaves
