great white Posted July 2, 2010 Report Share Posted July 2, 2010 Hi guys Following some discussions at last nights meeting here is another update prior to me contacting the Marina and Restaurant The general concensus ref the weather seemed to be, that we should only go if we can do fishing and socialising. I was also asked to make the call by Wed/Thur AM for those like me that have booked a day off. While there was not a specific plan for the fishing, several people seemed to be interested in what was happening on the Saturday, Helen seemed very keen for us to have some fishing so that she and those ladies that wanted to could have some retail therepy n Weymouth. Because of personal reasons we will not be able to go on Friday until mid afternoon on Friday and let the last of the ebb tide push us West. maybe a few drifts on the banks before arrival early evening. We would then be happy to take a trip out on Saturday after breakfast with a plan to return early enough to get ready for the restaurant. anyone who wants to buddy boat will be more than welcome, in fact I will probably have space on the boat if anyone needs a ride. From my details I have 11 boats going by sea plus R2d2, Marine Boy, Jo Jo possibly going by road Alfresco - berthing Fri and Sat - 3 for restaurant confirmed Awol - berthing Fri and Sat - 3 for restaurant Confirmed Joint Venture - berth Sat night - 2 for Restaurant Serenity - berthing Fri and Sat - 2 for restaurant Wishin [due to personal reasons may change] - Sat 2 for restaurant Abode 2 -berthing Fri and Sat - 2 for restaurant confirmed by75% White magic probably join in the fishing only on Sat Prodigy - berthing Fri and Sat - 2 for restaurant Just perfick - berthing Fri and Sat - - 6 for restaurant confirmed Moonshine - berthing Fri and Sat - 2 for restaurant Imagine Fri and Sat - 2 for Restaurant Confirmed By Road: R2D2 trail down Jo Jo trail down - Sat - - 2 for Resturant Marineboy trail down lady jane It would be helpful if those that are not confirmed, can please do so. To get discount we need 10 boats also lets have some thoughts about fishing Sat and on the return run on Sunday lads. I am more than happy to run out to some wrecks for a go at the usual targets on Sat, With possibly a stop on the inshore marks/ banks on the way home, ebb tide against us from about 1400 Sunday I hear that the forecast remains changable, but at this range it will change several more times yet. Will be just Rach and myself, no fishing rods (well maybe one sneaky one!) and we will be leaving Poole about Sat lunchtime taking a slow scenic cruise down the coast for wine and food sat night, returning to Poole after breakfast onboard Sunday morning. If you could indicate any thoughts for weather limits that may help as well. Note that the southern entrance to the harbour is permanently closed. If visiting the marina please call on VHF channel 80 / tel 08454 30 2012 for a berth allocation. I will be in touch soon with Russel and send him a list giving : Boat names, sizes, owners names, arrival date etc. All you should have to do on arrival is call them and find your berth.
