Sunday only, me and baby Gummidge on Hobitt

Gummidge & guest on Endeavour 3

Leaving Christchurch together at some time Coz one of the old tubs usually break down at every opportunity !!

Both of us on our first 'official ' competition , off the ledge (ish , sort of !) Look for the plumes of two-stroke and the endless cranking of bilge pumps !

Tigerfish Catch report:

Rays caught: 0 (and we really tried)

Mackerel - fully stocked for the whole winter and spring now, plus enough for quite a few meals  :)

Tope - couple of good ones and some bite offs

Bass - no great size took a liking for mackerel

Buss Huss - a few, one was pretty decent - see September photo of the month comp

Great to be out there

Kingfisher

Chris W

Two small blonde rays, too small to weigh

Mal T

SER. 5lb 2oz

Undulate Ray 9lb 14oz

Very slow day out on the deeper banks, Mal got a nice Bass as a bonus and a few tope.We stopped on the way in and Mal managed three undulates in the 30 mins.

Great day to be out weatherwise and frustrating that the bites were so slow all day.

Well done Stuie on what you had yesterday great effort.

Nothing for sea Jay, our daughter decided she wanted a day out, So after a steam up the swash I decided it was a little too lumpy for her to enjoy the day.

So we went inshore to fish the harbour, and this turned up just off Lake pier.

Great day out on Alfresco, Charlie has the weight details for the rays but I don't think we had any over 12lb 8oz ish.  Quite a few rays land, plus lots of mackerel, doggies and a starry smooth hound.

Superb fuel saving tip from Charlie on the way home and a special thanks to Dave. Great too be out and catching fish in good company.

Our day was dire, we usually do ok in this comp but not this year.  1 small blonde landed by Rob (not weighed but guessed at around 8lb so not included in results) I had a bream of 2lb 11oz (weighed at home) We even struggled for mackerel so we retired early to the bar :P

Could all competitors who caught fish register them in the "Report your catch - here" section of the forum to save me trying to work out which fish had the highest specimen %

Many thanks

and well done to all that caught "the target species" - which sadly excluded me!!!
