Adam F
No need to edit my post, just copy it, paste it and add to it - it keeps it at the front of the thread. Like here: (although thanks Martin for updaing it!) 1.) Joint Venture - Adam, Bob and Alun - 4 day trip, leaving 6.30am Poole 2.) Awol - Martin, Dean, PJ - 4 day trip, Timings still open Poole 3.) Quest Two - Tom + Crew - 4 day trip, leaving Poole 5.30 start ? 4.) Phaeton - Duncan + crew timings still open 5.) Alfresco - Charlie, Gordon , Will, Sam, Dan - 4 day trip leave Poole 5.30am 6.) Just Perfick - Tomo, Paul D - 4 day trip, leave Xchurch 5am 7.) Wight Magic - Dave, Gordon H ,Bri, Leaving 6.30 Poole Looking good. It seems the Poole boats are planning on leaving between 5.30 and 6.30am - so we can either have two flotillas or agree on a time, say 6am and all go together? I'd suggest we aim to rendezvous with Just Perfick somehwere midchannel if they want company across, alterntively will they head over towards Poole first? Q - Has anyone got access to Ice? If not - Greenslades? If the weather is good, I'd like to raft up the boats one eve and have an onboard BBQ rather than down the pub? Adam F
Are you going diving for the scallops Adam? Not while I'm there, but I am tomorrow - I'll try and get out before the trip and bring 6 dozen over for tea!! Do you want to discuss here or at the next meeting? I guess here as not all will make next meeting. I'd guess all will want to fish on day 1 - but just you anchoring mid channel I think - the rest of us are doing proper fishing..... great white
Thanks Adam Interested to know what "Proper Fishing" you are all intending to do. I realise that we will probably be the only ones at anchor, and was trying to get an idea of where others will be so we do not anchor in the way. For the safety aspect I am sure that we will not be too far off the direct route so if we need assistance or can offer assistance to others we will still be in company. I am sure other boats will move from wreck to wreck in the hunt for table fish as we did last year. and hope to do again on day 4 Charlie

Bob F
What are you guys doing about Travel Insurance for the Alderney trip? Do you take out individual insurance cover, or do you just rely on a EHIC Medical Card. If someone is hurt and has to be flown home, how are the costs covered? On the news this morning there was something about the Channel Islands being separate from the EU or something, and therefore there may be some issues about how we would be covered if medical assistance was needed. I didn't see the article myself, so I may have got the wrong message, but it did remind me about how we are covered for Travel Insurance. Bob F
Just found this on the NHS website. Channel Islands The bilateral healthcare agreement between the UK and the Channel Islands will end on Tuesday, 31 March 2009. Anyone travelling to the Islands, which include Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Sark and Herm, will now be required to pay for medical treatment should they become ill or injured. Visitors from the UK are advised to arrange for adequate travel insurance in advance. BF
conger king
does this effect duty free items aswell
Adam F
It's a good point Bob - as far as I know, no one has bothered in the past (edit: because they havent needed to!) Dont know the answer really, youre probably more likey to need it than your average family trip to Spain....
Newboy
does this effect duty free items aswell CI is outside the EU, so allowance is like rest of the world, eg 200 cigarettes etc.
Maverick Martin
does this effect duty free items aswell Duty frees are the same as they always were so the only health scare there is smoking and alcohol

alun j.
Ditto, multi - trip , world wide cover for two ...... even cheaper from internet site. Would a rod over the side be a claim for 'loss of baggage'?? Alun.

Newboy
If any of you have annual multi trip insurance for either the family or as a couple, you may want to check that it will also cover trip make by only you, as most will not cover. The logic behind is that premium is calculated as a family and you are less likely to do dangerous things while holidaying as a family. plaicemat
Not quite right in my experience, Kam. I have been using these policies for years, with three different companies and they usually say it can be used for couple or single travelling but not two single trips to different places at the same time.
