Here is a few pictures from yesterday, sorry I have not got one of Alans face when i had the Turbot which cost him the boat win on the last cast. Nice picture of 7.12oz Bailions which was .4oz bigger than Wessex record.

Thanks for taking me out Al, had a enjoyable day with plenty of fish.

Nice result

Well done all.

What did everyone think of this format??

I thought it worked very well, allowed more Members to join in when they had a pass over the weekend and it gave a few of us a chance to nip out a second time to "Use up the spare worms"

Even if it did have me scratching my head on some of the mini species from the patch. Yes Stuie I did have to buy smaller hooks. Lol

I would be interested to hear what Neal and Mal thoughts are from the organising and Safety aspects, as well as Members views from a competitors point of view.

Would get my vote as an annual Easter species comp

Charlie we fished on the Sunday and I stuck my neck out and said watch out for the higher gusts predicted Sunday, when we left the Harbour I was getting some stick about what wind ect, by the time we dropped anchor it was blowing a hooley from the North, that disapaited and returned to calm, then a cool westerly blew a hooley for the rest of the afternoon.

Iam happy to keep an eye out, and put a post up if a warning or cancellation is necessary, more effort but as long as members appreciate your effort that is fine.

Would get my vote as an annual Easter species comp[/quote well I got to say I like this sort of comp. Alan and I probably took it a bit more seriously than was meant and really wanted to get one over each other as we are against each other in the Benato comp in a couple of weeks time. I think that we finished level in the end was a fair result. I was actually disappointed not to get a few more species ( Pollock, garr, blenny, goby, gurnard ) all of which I thought we should have had, Turbot was a bonus. Would like to see something like this as a boat comp so we could fish different methods? Maybe as a 24 hour comp.
