Drove down to Cobb's in the fog.

The marina was clear & bright. The water was like glass. What a beautiful morning for filming !

Headed off to catch the 7:30 lift and collect Dean from the Quay.

The fog was quite thick as we passed Asda / RNLI but quickly cleared again as we neared the Quay.

Good old Dean brought us a bacon & egg bap along with our signing in papers and bait.

Stopped at Peveril for a few mackerel but no joy there so headed off to Dancing ledge.

Fished one spot for a while with no joy so moved and started to catch.  ;)  ( well done skipper )

As the tide increased and swung us around we stopped catching.

We found a few fish throughout the day and increased Martin's species tally.

Total species for the day were:

Baby conger, Doggies, Mackerel, Bream, Spotted Ray ( see picture ) and a special Rockling ( see picture )

I won £40.00 tackle vouchers for my 2lb 9oz Bream ( that's a first for me )

Thanks Martin & Dean for a brilliant day out.

Jim

Well I drove down and parked on Poole Quay at 6.30 to wait for Alan and Hooky to come under the bridge and tie up so we could go at get breakfast at the café and wait to sign in to the comp at 7.30 all went to plan and arrived on our chosen mark off Ballard by eight-ish. expected to see a few boats and kayaks  already there but only one other boat which was no where near where we wanted to anchor, had a quick look round and saw a few fish on the sounder ( Happy days) so got the anchor down and Hooky started ground baiting the area  with Halibut pellets mixed with rice and some Salmon eggs (you never know might have worked) which Alan and I bought along. Well I would like to say that we then caught lots of fish, but in truth for the whole day between the three of us really trying we only caught 12 bream and nothing else not even a doggie. Glad we stuck it out as we thought about moving many times. Thanks to Alan for taking me and Hooky for making the tea and netting my fish. Not the best days fishing but got the result.

Well done Dave

Good to see a few club members in the top 10 of the Poole Sea Angling Centre Bream Comp

A good day's fishing on Court Jester - went round to Dancing Ledge, I think we were the first to arrive - but followed by a steady trickle of boats - both Club and Charter. We looked around for the fish on the sounder and having located them settled in. Plenty of Bream from the off - all Males and all around 2lb mark, occasionally a slightly bigger one. Once the tide increased to requiring 1lb of lead, we moved inshore a bit but only found small females - moved a couple of times to new spots but still couldn't find the big females!

Plenty of by-catch too including a nice 6lb Bass to Stuie - shame it had to go back! - several Undulate Rays, a Spotted Ray and a couple of Mackerel.

Thanks to Mal and Stuie for the company

Neal  - 2lb 8oz - (gave me 10th Place)

Stuie - 2lb 5oz

Mal - 2lb -1oz
