We started our weekend from Poole by getting on the boat for 6:30 to make our way under the Poole bridge for the 7:30 lift.

Out to the wrecks mid channel then work our way along the coast was the plan. The going out was a little choppier than I had hoped for but still manageable cruising at 16 knots. The wrecks didn't fish that well with only a few small cod and a reasonable Pollock caught on the first three wrecks. The wreck that fished the best was the 4th, a small Uboat where I had a 15lb 4oz cod some other small cod and a ling of 7 or so lbs.

The last wreck we fished was massive and gave up absolutely zero fish. We reckon the tides were the culprit on this trip giving us to slow a drift for most of the day but hey thats fishing.

One interesting thing was that HMS Duncan was live firing within 4 or 5 miles of us, we could see the splashes shells made in the water. Powerful devilish.png bit of kit you wouldn't want to cross and glad they're on our side.

Saturday saw a late start out to the bank where we fared no worse (or better) than anyone else. We ended up with a spotted ray, several dogs and 4 or 5 tubbies all on the small side. The weather then decided to get up a little so in early doors to get ready for the evenings bbq and drinks.

Sunday was our last day which we again spent on the banks. The weather was much better than the saturday but the fishing decidedly quieter for us with only one tubby coming to the boat. We left around 2pm to head back to Poole. The crossing of Weymouth bay was uneventful with St Albans head being fairly docile. We stopped for a while around dancing ledge to see if the bream would come out to play but they wouldn't join in. We then had to go around Anvil Point where the race had us down to 8 knots at one point but nothing we couldn't handle. Then a skip across Swanage bay and back home to Poole. We were in doors by 6:30 totally cream crackered.

Both Dean and I had a great time and met some great people, if timing and weather permit we will be back again
