lofty
Well done the orange boat These "recreational" yaks cause more trouble than anything It's a rare case a kayak fisherman gets into trouble. If anyone knows people who've recently bought them please pass my number on so I can advise on minimal safety kit Lofty 07740456081 Kingfisher 126
Kingfisher 126
Not just the novice yakers, when you watch as you are out people at times think you just point and go!! Everyday out is a learning day for boaters. Amazing there are not more problems and that includes the gin palaces tearing past a few metres away. Great offer Lofty. Newboy
How can a kayak sink? I thought they are bouyant and don't sink?!
Jim
I forwarded this on to Steve. He's after a 2 person kayak for him and his 8 year old daughter. If anyone knows where there's an inexpensive one please let me know. And yes, I'll make sure he gets some safety instruction. Thanks for your offer Lofty. Brian
From the photo, it looks as though the 8 year old wasn't wearing a buoyancy aid, can't tell if the dad was, but I doubt it.

You must be talking about the "Birmingham Navy " Chris................I wonder how many of them have actually taken any form of training course, not a lot by the way some of them drive !!! Was coming in during the week along the main ship channel, lots of the small sailing dinghy's crossing the channel and some W@nker went through the small gap between them at a quite a speed, no regard for anyone's safety at all !!
