Looks good!

 

I think I'd put an extra eye on the rod to achieve it, and use a hacksaw and file to open the eye smoothly and allow it to be engaged for retrieving, and disengaged for casting.

 

I think anything else would be cut through by the line abrasion over time.

 

Something to think about!

Looks good, I like your idea Mike, off out to the shed to sort through my spare rod eyes.

 

I'll have to sort out a fixed spool reel though, as it obviously doesn't work with a multiplier.

Cut the spare off of them with a Stanley Knife, you will not leave that sharp tag end.

You could have grated cheese on my hands a few years back but now I've got my little office job, they're easy pickings for sharp edges like that. tongue.giftongue.giftongue.gif
