Trust backs Sussex netting and trawling bylaws

The Sussex Inshore Fishery and Conservation Authority have put forward new bylaws for netting and trawling along the Sussex coast. The proposals include excluding trawling out to 4km in order to allow kelp beds off the coast of Littlehampton to recover. The Angling Trust will be responding to the bylaws and we are encouraging our members and clubs to do the same.

Details of how to respond to proposal

Chris Holloway, chairman of Angling Trust Wyvern; Peter Vanallen, deputy chairman; Phill Higgins, chairman of the Professional Boatman's Association; and Angling Trust director Tim Macpherson were among those attending the meeting.

We are undefeatable campaign

Angling has joined in with a new campaign to help people with long term health conditions find activities that inspire them to get active. If you have a long term illness or condition which has been improved by fishing, please send your words and pictures to will.smith@anglingtrust.net so that he can use them to let people know how angling is a great way to help with mental or physical health issues.
