#LatestNews - Search in Studland area for missing kayaker

Officers searching for a kayaker who went missing off the coast along Studland are asking for the public’s help to find him.

Alistair Collier, who is 60 years old and from Worcester, was taking part in a race off Studland today, Saturday 6 October 2018. He was last seen at 12pm near Swanage pier.

All other participants returned at the end of the race except Alistair.

HM Coastguard has been searching the area. However, so far the missing kayaker has not been located.

Alistair is white, five feet two inches tall and of medium build. He has brown eyes, black greying hair and a goatee and speaks with a norther accent. He was wearing a red life jacket.

He was in a white canoe with stabiliser and a blue stripe on top.

Chief Inspector Heather Dixey, of Dorset Police, said: “The search for Alistair is continuing, but unfortunately we have not been able to find him.

“We are urging anyone who has seen a man matching Alistair’s description or his kayak since this afternoon to contact us.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Alistair's whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 6:284. https://goo.gl/TtN27H
