First proper trip for six weeks.

Given the calm weather today, we decided to leave Cobbs fairly early to get the 7.30 Bridge and head west. On board today were myself, Jan and John Dunster who joined us for his first trip on Fisheagle.

As the tides were very large, we decided to stop a mile or two before the Island. Conditions were quite favourable, if a little chilly. It was great to get out after nearly six weeks without a proper trip.

The fishing was pretty much as expected, loads of dogs and large pouting as soon as fish baits were used. These were interspersed with good sized whiting to everyone going to 3 lbs. The inevitable conger, the largest to just over 20 lbs to Jan and a bonus pollack over 13 lbs. Alas, no cod.

Alln.
