After an early start and getting the head of steam up myself, my son Andrew and Kev C headed down west in the hunt for a few fish off the wrecks.

A misty start on the way out but no problem and a few cuppas later we were over the first wreck just before slack water.

First drift and Kev pulls up a 4lb cod, great start and maybe a sign of whats to come. ;)

Tide dropped off and and we managed a few small pollock before the tide got going again. As the tide picked up a few bigger pollock showed up and a couple of big fish on and dropped.

The fishing didn't really get going so a change of wreck and a short run to the next one, the fishing no better after a few drifts along the lenght so another move to hunt them down!!!

Same again :( nothing massive and no numbers so off to another on the route home, bingo bigger fish a couple of pollock over 12lb and a first cod to Andrew. :)

By now the tide dropping off again and so did the fishing so off home, stopping to give a couple of wrecks a quick go as we passed, big fished hooked but nothing landed, Kev had something on for quite a while that ended up biting through the trace, he even had a jelly bitten cleanly in half so maybe a few tope around!!

A cracking day to be out only spoilt by the rugby result last night!!! :(

Thanks Kev for the banter and top class filleting on the way in. And looking after Andrew as he has had very few days out fishing and there was a few tackle rebuilds required as wreck under us seemed to mean to him Kev I need another set of gear!!!! Not quite that bad!

Nice report Chris

Must admit the fishing was a bit slow, but it was a lovely day to be out there

And we got some nice fish for the table what more can you ask for

And we had great laugh along the way, thanks for the invite and it was nice to meet Andrew and give him a bit stick.

Had a little run out on Reel Bizzy today the bay is full of tub gurnards, they are every where.

It was ok first thing but blew up mid morning, still a good weekend had..

shame about the rugby

Kev
