Paul J Posted February 13, 2005 Report Share Posted February 13, 2005 Got a great deal on an Old Boston Whaler Newport so i took the plunge and bought it. Its a 17ft Open Boat with a 50hp 2 stroke mercury blue band and 5hp johnson aux. It needs a bit of tlc but it is a sound boat and should be perfect for a lot of my inshore fishing. From what i can gather the engine has been looked after by the guy at Strides boat yard and after a chat with him i'm fairly confident it will be ok. Fingers crossed on that one. Lots of things need doing so i have a good little project on till the weather improves and the fish start to bite. I have to start from scratch so first thing is to sort out the electrics out I need to install another battery and 2 way switch, hook up the lights etc. Buy vhf, gps, saftey kit, rope, life jackets, etc etc Then at some point i might just get it wet Paul J Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
