VHF certificate

I guys hopw you can help me here. I have my own boat although i dont use it alot (which really annoys me) i dont have a VHF cert. Can anyone tell me the first thing to do as i want to do it properly. Its a Warrior 165 and we use it for fishing out of herne bay and up to a range of about 12 miles. I have a ggod sense of boat handling and navagation but just want a proper piece of paper so i can use the radio if needed. e.g exit and entry to port

You need a "Short Range Certificate (SRC) Licence".

Do a Google search for RYA courses in your area for GMDSS VHF.

 

The course is one day, but you need to learn the Phonetic Alphabet before you go.

 

You also need a Ships Licence, you can apply online, it's free (if you apply by post it's
