Better a day on the water than!!

Left Cobbs in thick fog this morning at 7.30.

Pea soup until the ferry then clear and sunny.

Decided to try for some small scad on the pier wreck, pout, poor cod, a macky, big scad but only a few small scad.

Headed out on the banks for a go for bass and a couple of wrecks close by.

Lots of fish marks on the banks but nothing taking our baits! Maybe small bait fish.

A move to another bank, same thing, now getting personal!

Tide slowing so headed for a bit of wrecking, right move pollock first drift with small live scad, 7lb ish.

Another on jelly 8lb 4oz.

Dropped the anchor for slack water fun and quickly rewarded with a rod bent double and Stu being pulled around the back end of the boat :-) well worth a laugh!

Got a conger around 30lb to the side of the boat which bit through the trace before I had a chance to t bar the hook out.

Had a couple more on but lost them (suspect conger) and some pollock on baited feathers dropped into the wreck and a few small pout for bait.

Tide soon picked up so off to try the banks again, same thing hits on jellies but nothing hooked so suspect marks to be small fish having a go. Or crap fishing by us!!

Cracking day weather wise and beats a day in the office!

Am envious Chris! Sounds a great day.

I have had  lots of hits on plastics over in France, with no hook ups. Slow retrieval after the hits showed cuttle hanging on. After a while the plastics lures were filled with v-shaped notches from their "beaks". Could it have been the same?
