Rob
It's happening - a few destructive fishermen may have to do something else - it that a shame? http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/archive/2...es_of_fishing_/
great white
I think that none of us will cry ourselves to sleep over a commercial fisherman that damages the seabed having to stop But lets not gloat untill we are sure that all the fisherman that fish in those areas do not just head into our area, they have already finished up in the channel islands We also want to be sure these SAC do not affect Recreational Sea Anging Charlie
diverdave
They should ban all destructive fishing within the 3 mile limit all around the UK. As a diver I've seen the damage done by trawls and dredges and Poole Bay is far worse than Lyme bay due to size and location. The seabed takes years to recover, it's not like a ploughed field ! Sinbad
We were out last friday, keepng well inshore as the Northerly winds were a tad extreme, and our "friend" the Red trawler was on station about a mile offshore in poole bay doing his thing. Just remember, we recreational chaps tend not to go out for weeks on end - he's there in rain or shine, 24/7... Rant over.... have a nice weekend.... might get out Sat ??
