great white Posted August 24, 2004 Report Share Posted August 24, 2004 Bob, I do not know the uptider but Sam and Daniel both have 30lb ugly stick gold boat rods they seem very good and strong, although the rings are on the cheap side. I don't think you would get one of those doing what your last one did. the old ugly sticks were marketed as the strongest rods available. Super rod, nice rings and number of rings. About 18mths old now. This is not the extending butt model like the Suveran!
