Got sent some details about a marine crime prevention fayre at Christchurch Sailing Club on 24th March 2007; 10am to 3.30pm.

Leaflet says: 'Dorset Police last year investigated over 64 reported incidents of marine related crime that occurred on the Rivers Stour and Avon. There was a dramatic increase in the number of boats & tenders and outboard motors that were stolen based on previous years statistics. A large quantity of this stolen property was seized when a search warrant was executed in New Milton in Nov 2006'

Leaflet goes on to state that alot of the items could not be recovered due to there being no marks or records of serial numbers.

The meeting is aimed at looking at different boat security equipment that is available on the market. It is being promoted and supported by Dorset Police, Christchurch Sailing Club, Elkins Yard, Rossiters Yard, RIB MArine, The RNLI and MCA.

Anyway, thought I'd pass on the info for anyone who might be interested.
