The key areas for action are:

Managing fisheries within the marine environment

Effective implementation of Common Fisheries Policy

Modernising fisheries management

Building long term profitability

Inshore fisheries management

Recreational angling

Mr Bradshaw said: "This is a challenging action plan that will require both the Government's commitment, and cooperation from stakeholders. I believe that by working together we can achieve a better future for the industry and a healthy marine environment."

Challenging indeed!!!!! I note that there are no details as to how he is even dreaming of implementing this! Cynical view, I know, I'm sorry, but having dealt with projects alongside DEFRA officials historically, I dont hold much hope of anything new.................Oh, except the implentation of a system of getting a licence fee out of Salt Water Anglers, which I'm not against, so long as its reasonable, and effectively policed.
