Slight delay in publishing the report this month!  I've created a bit of a monster, in trawling (haha) all of these sources for info- so it can take me a while.  No new topics, but a lot of organisations that we have become familiar within in 2013 are gearing up for another year of continued and renewed pressure on some of our favourite issues...

Disclaimer: Apologies if I’ve doubled up on any stories/articles. No prizes for spotting if I have!

“Many of the stories and information that I pass on comes from various ‘channels’ on the internet.  I use Twitter, Facebook, several news sites and have signed up for a few email distribution lists.

To see who I am following on Twitter, look me up at @charlieannear”

Some of this year’s hot topics (in no particular order):

  • EU Legislation and subsidies
  • Microplastics and Pollution
  • Sharks, Rays and endangered species
  • Illegal fishing
  • MPA’s/MCZ’s
  • Climate change, Ocean Warming, Ocean Acidification
  • Wind Farms, Sea Bed Mining, Dredging, Coastal Protection and other Commercial Activity

Hi All

Yep, love the way those Congers smash up the bait!

The bait cam was part of the studies into the flora and fauna colonisation of the surf reef.

Some of you may remember I went to a talk about it last year and there is a video of the talk on one of the links below.

The bait cam was put down in a few locations around the Bay to compare what was living on the surf reef to what was living in other places.

A bit more info:

We know Josie through the Sea Angling 2012 surveys- she was one of the surveyors.

They said they'd be able to come and talk about what was living on the surf reef if anyone is interested?

There are also some videos on the Swash Channel Wreck which show some species- I'll search them out...
