great white Posted April 22, 2013 Report Share Posted April 22, 2013 We used to make them using re bar John, its cheaper than stud just weld 4 pieces down the tube arranged at 90 degree intervals around the tube. then bed a U in another bit and weld it to the other end for attaching the chain. spare ones are carried with the bars straight for easier stowage, then just bend the bars when you want to use it Stuie 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

So could stored well and you could also have a spear leg, should one get damaged. But your way is just as good. Its getting hold of scaffold tube I find the hardest.
