Swainiac Posted October 1, 2004 Report Share Posted October 1, 2004 Kam, all of my cod caught on bait, have fallen to squid. I use about six of them, on a pennel rig. That accounts for mine. I have had success on lures over wrecks in the summer months, but the winter bait caught fish have always been larger fish. One train of thought on cod, is to empty out the contents of the squid, and fill it with lugworm, then place onto the rig. Next you pierce it with a baiting needle to allow the juices to flow out. Ive never tried this method, but it appears in sea fishing articles on the appearance of winter cod!! I think it would work out expensive though!!!
