duncan Posted December 30, 2005 Report Share Posted December 30, 2005 Phew what a game all that turned out to be eh! Recently returned after what seems like a week away just to get out Thursday! Firstly can I echo the comment re Paul and payback for his sterling efforts on our own open - not ignoring the other contributions of course. The fish arrived just after the middle of the ebb, and Beowulf (4 cables West) had theirs at about the same time. Paul fought a cagey fight and the only way he was going to loose it was if someone screwed up with the net - glad I didn't (and payback again; for his netting mine last year!) We estimated 13 on the boat - 13 3 on the scales. Final results were, as far as I remember them - 180 odd anglers 6 Cod 3 to Charter boats (Hooker (Pat Manley) - Beowulf (Nick ?) - Other? 3 to Private boats (all PBSBAC ones........... ) This time the cod was a little stupid - and I didn't take this into account - fihs was supposed to grab my small piece of cuttle as an 'starter' before moving on to Paul 'main course' bait - it couldn't have been 10 ft away from it - dumb greedy fish! Here's a picture taken at the time - if you look really closely you can just see a hint of a smile on the anglers face - trust me this got bigger as the day wore (sic) on!
