BUT....... noth-east and an ebb tide could be not too uncomfortable if you don't go so far out.

 

Got my thoughts on trip to X-ray area........ to see if it still fishes on the ebb for whiting [ and another cod ??].

 

Don't think the whiting will be around much longer......... the ones I caught last weekend [ 3 lb. ers] had good size roe inside them,. wonder when they spawn?

One presumes they are gorging on the huge sprat shoals, prior to spawning, then spawn when they dissapear from the feeding grounds??

Last weekend our sounder was continually showing large sweeping crescents of echo,rightly or wrongly,we assumed these to be Sprat shoals....jack

I'm using you Alun, as a 'Whiting Magnet '- I may go out one last time during the week if you do the prep work and locate the buggers.

 

Just dont get another 24lb Cod, or we'll all be very very peeved

hey jack ive seen those sweeping cresents as well, i wondered why the crew looked at me strange when i asked them if they'd seen all the umberellas go by on the sounder LOL
