Tek Tanks

Hi Rich,

There's no problem with the unit sitting on the bottom. The power leads and air hose are all twisted together to make them all one piece going up the sides of the tank.

If the air is adjusted properly, they will school tail to nose in the current and will be mostly stationary in their swimming. This will allow you to pack more bait in the tank. When first using the unit, put a small amount of bait in the tank and make adjustments to get them to school properly. Then you can add more bait. Each species has it's own schooling speed and also stress factors. The more delicate the bait, the less you can maintain.

As you know you need an oval or round tank. Otherwise delicate bait will go to the corners and die rather quickly. With non schooling bait it doesn't matter what the shape of the tank is.

I'll be learning about your area of the world as we talk. Everybody is a teacher and we learn from each other. Since you have colder water, aeration isn't as critical as Florida, but you still need aeration if you want to trailer your boat home with bait and go fishing the next day.
