Hi Martin, intention was a Ray trip but when we stopped to anchor over three knots of tide so used the ebb for a trip to the Shambles.

Had a couple of keepers, but as you can see it was a lovely day to be drifting about down there.

A great trip back with the flood so the boat had a good blow out too.

Where was you based ? I want to have a go at the shambles but I think it maybe a bit too far for my little boat . I've got a quick silver 640 with a 90 mariner with a 100 litre tank do you think I'd make it there and back .? Any tips be great...

Cheers

Chris is based at Cobbs as am I.  The shambles is about 40 miles from Cobbs so would probably be to far for your boat unless you took a load of spare fuel.  You have to bare in mind that fishing the Shambles is drifting so you are constantly up and down the bank so a lot more mileage than just there and back.  Chris has a diesel powered 25' boat so has the range needed.  Your best bet to fish the Shambles would be to cadge a ride on one of the bigger boats and share fuel costs with the skipper.  We will be going hopefully in the next month, if we have space I will post in the trip planning heading of the forum
